O ur curriculum at St. Mark's Child Care Center is based on the High/Scope Education Research Foundation Model developed out of Ypsilanti, Michigan. It is our firm belief that children learn the best through active experiences with materials, people, events and ideas.

The basis of our program is providing the initiative for learning and exploration through key experiences in following areas of development:

  • Classification
  • Creative representation
  • Initiative and social relations
  • Language and literacy
  • Movement
  • Music
  • Numbers (math)
  • Seriation
  • Space and time

In addition to the regular curriculum, our Kindergarten uses the Legacy of Literacy by Houghton Mifflin reading series, math and science lessons and computer experiences.
